fairly good week so far. been spending time in the gym at work after work - did 10 min. elliptical & 30 min. (1.25 mi.) treadmill yesterday, and 10 min. elliptical & 30 min. (1.5 mi.) today. I'm going to email the gym bunny tomorrow to schedule time for her to set up a "program" for me - I'd love to start using the weights and stuff once my hand gets better. In general health-and-fitness news, I'm down 23 lbs since Jan. 1 - 234 to 211. Once I break the 200 mark, I'm treating myself to a Cadbury Cream Egg. Those little balls of sugar are my absolute favorite candy, and they are precisely the reason I fell off the low-carb wagon last year.

In house news, we have an appointment with our realtor on Saturday to look at the top 7 houses on our list, plus she said she'd look at the others and see if there were any worth seeing while we're out. We've also got the paperwork for preapproval, which we'll hopefully be filling out tonight. Very exciting.

Who did you have a crush on?
I was fucking Marty, but I don't think that counts. Ours was more of a "friends with benefits, yes it's really okay if you take one of my closest friends to the Prom" relationship.
What sports did you play?
I worked at Discovery Zone, running childrens' birthday parties. Don't think that's a sport? Try it sometime, with a new party of 30 kids every hour.
What kind of car did you drive?
I illegally (permit but no licensed driver in the car) drove my very own 1983 Oldsmobile Omega named Guillermo. I got my license the day before my prom.

Ever skip school?
Nah - I got caught skipping junior year by my dad and there was hell to pay. However, I started my senior year with almost enough credits to graduate, so I only attended the first three periods of the day and then got to leave to go to work. That was sweet.

School mascot?
A canary. No, really. The rumor was that at the time my high school was built, their rivals were the Hurricanes. So, the school's mascot was made to be the only animal that could survive a hurricane. But they got it wrong - only swallows can survive hurricanes. So, we should have been the Allen Swallows. That, along with the other local high schools, the Whitehall Zephyrs (they blow) and the Parkland Trojans (well, that's obvious) was the topics of much silliness amongst the high school kids.
Did you go to Prom?
Yes, with Topher. I cannot express how awesome an idea it was to take my flamingly gay best friend as my date. He picked out my flowers (a crown of roses in my hair), did my hair and makeup, we had our pictures taken at the Rose Gardens in front of a statue of a naked man, and stayed up all night afterwards watching movies. I went to three other proms with my former boyfriend, and they all sucked. My senior prom kicked ass, and it's all because of Toph.

Last one, favorite memory of your Senior Year?
One? How about two. The first is eating Chinese takeout with Toph on the roof of his old 1970's-era Mustang. The second is not technically senior year, but about a week after graduation, when Toph and I saw Natalie Merchant in concert. She walked out on stage, I came, and I realized I liked girls. The rest, as they say, is history.

Here's hoping my 10-year reunion this year is at least as amusing as this meme.
