[livejournal.com profile] rustymarble totally saved my ass (or, more accurately, my stomach) yesterday by braving 300 firetrucks, no A/C, and back roads without a Tom Tom to come pick up my pukey self in Skippack. I slept until pretty much now, give or take a few waking hours, and Mer rode out the remains of the day solo to sell a pretty penny's worth of jewelry.

Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] rustymarble! You have our undying devotion and gratitude, and unlimited babysitting creds or whatever else you need. You totally saved the day. And many, many thanks to your son for missing out on Spongebob and not being too terribly cranky about the much-longer-than-it-should-have-been car ride.

It kind of felt like a Monty Python sketch at one point.
"A parade"
"No one ever expects a PARADE!"

"YELLOW Firetrucks?"

"Ok, three yellow firetrucks just passed me. Have they passed you yet?"

Sometimes you need a little adventure on a Saturday afternoon. And lord knows we've seen enough Spongebob!

Oh and you are forever welcome! The heat sometimes just doesn't agree with rebellious stomachs. Glad it didn't cost you all those jewelry sales!

Turns out it wasn't the sun after all. I got sick again this week (Tuesday?). It was the same thing - felt fine, then all of a sudden...yuk. I was home, sorting tupperware, at the time. The only thing the two events had in common (other than the obvious) was the Lactaid I had taken about 90 minutes prior. Mer did a bit of research and it seems that I may be one of a handful of people who have violent, stomach-cramping, vomitous reactions to the stuff. Joy.
