Whee! another 1/2 day off work.

I've jumped on the Google Talk bandwagon, and can be found at (gasp!) flannelbutch.

OK, I'll bite

i'm a completely random left coast lj person. i looked through all the downingtown people on lj and deemed you the coolest looking one of the lot, so that means that you are the one who i impose my downingtown-related favor on ;) my grandma lives near downingtown, and i haven't seen her in over a decade. i'm flying in to visit next week. i'm a vegetarian and i eat mostly organic food, so when i travel i generally google extensively to find grocery stores/coops/restaurants which can feed me. but i haven't found anything near downingtown that's similar :( i tried looking for trader joe's because i know the east coast has them too, but the only one i could find was in philly... and although i'd be perfectly willing to rent a car/take the train and shop there, my grandma is unenthusiastic about that ;)

i also prefer to avoid corporate coffeeshops/chains whenever possible, but being from seattle, i fit the stereotype of an espresso freak... so i thought you might also know about a place that's non-starbucks or etc... and preferably a place that would be cool with less traditional/typical people ;)

any help would be terribly appreciated... i google talk as makeitfunkynow at gmail dot com... or i'm on all the other ims as well..

I don't know about a coffee shop, although there are probably some in downtown West Chester, near West Chester University (which is about 10 minutes outside Downingtown by car). As far as organic food, the only thing I can think of is Wegman's. I know they have a decent organic produce section, and they have a decent-sized organic groceries section, including frozen meals, bulk dry goods, soups, beverages, etc. There's one right on Business Rt. 30 in Downingtown proper. There is a Trader Joe's closer than Philly, down where Rt. 202 meets Rt. 1, which is only about a 30 min. drive from Downingtown.

Good luck while you're here!
